THE BISTRO
Conveniently sitting just minutes off of interstate 57, in the town square of Benton, IL, is Seasoning Bistro. The building was built in 1910, originally housing a hardware store. Throughout the years, is has been many businesses, such as a pool hall, tv repair shop, and other local, family restaurants.
Seasoning Bistro is a casual yet sophisticated dining experience. We strive for a city vibe, but we are more friendly than formal! We don’t care what you look like, just come in and have some good food! There are two levels of dining. In the downstairs dining room, vintage pictures of locals are featured on the original brick walls and wood ceiling. You may spot Charlie Birger in a few of the photos! In the upstairs dining room, featured are: the original tin ceiling, vintage inspired lighting, and modern decor. Decor is ever changing- you never know what will be new from your last visit!
Seasoning Bistro was started in 2011 when Troy Ray and Katie Karcher, former local culinary students, found an opportunity to start their own restaurant. They rented a previous facility for a few years, until it was the right time to buy. The property was purchased in December 2014 and renovations began the next spring. With old buildings, the projects never end. We are actively renovating the building, including preservation and structural enhancements. We are sorry for any inconveniences this could cause.
THE FOOD (AND DRINKS)
What could be more important than the food? All of the food is cooked to order, fresh, when you order it. We strive to offer some of the best quality food in our area. We build bold flavors, use fresh ingredients, and use classic and modern cooking techniques. Additives and preservatives are never used. Our specials are ever changing- inspired by seasonal ingredients and experiences we have had along our culinary journey. The same special is rarely served twice.
We just recently got our full liquor license which allows us to create craft cocktails!
The craft cocktail menu is small, seasonal, and offered exclusively on Friday and Saturday nights. We have a limited selections of spirits, but we are happy to make a drink just for you! Craft beer and wine are always offered. View our current menu here.
